This article will be about an error I receive in Excel 2010 software. Actually the same error also affects Outlook 2010. Briefly it is a hyperlink problem and when I click a hyperlink in Excel 2010 (which opens a word document in the same folder), it gives the error message “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator” (Figure 1). The interesting part is; I receive the error when a domain group policy is applied to the logon user. If I disable the policy, error disappears and everything is fine. The same is valid for hyperlinks in Outlook 2010 emails.
