The subject for this article is the authentication methods of Exchange 2007 Outlook Web Access (OWA). Throughout the article I will talk about the authentication methods, their advantages and disadvantages, how they are configured and therefore give a brief and clear understanding about the authentication methods of OWA to you. Lets begin with the authentication methods that are supported by Exchange 2007 OWA.

The first three parts of this article series covers what Sharepoint Server is, the requirements for Sharepoint infrastructure and what is done for the configuration. We also created Active Directory accounts for installation and configuration of Sharepoint Servers. We installed MS SQL 2008 database server and two sharepoint servers. We created the necessary databases on our database server, ran the configuration wizard for sharepoint and finished the initial configurations. In this last part of the series, I will make some additional configuration changes, will create a new Shared Services Provider and will create the first site of our Sharepoint infrastructure.

In this article, we will build a mail infrastructure by using Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system and Exchange Server 2010 products. Network infrastructure will be as simple as it can be. Therefore we decrease the possibility of getting error. For the mail infrastructure, we will use 2 servers in total. First one will be the DNS and Domain Controller server. The other one will be used to install Exchange Server 2010 with all Exchange Server roles (Figure 1).

In this article, i will talk about the basic steps for customization of Exchange 2007 OWA interface. OWA (as you already know) is an Exchange service for users to reach their e-mails via a web-browser without need for Outlook client. The server that gives this service is the one which is holding Client Access Server (CAS) role.
